Grant meets the Beach!

We are at the beach this week for Labor Day! I have never seen the ocean or walked in the sand so I am really excited! We are also going to my cousin Drew's 1st birthday party. It is a long drive so here we go....

All packed up and ready to go....
We have arrived at Drew's party and I already spotted some ducks! I love to say "duck" and I really wish they would let me come closer to them.
I am lookin hot today!
At the party.....I really wanted to open Drew's gifts for him but everyone kept telling me no.
FINALLY....they took me to the beach! And guess what....there were birds. I loved the birds so mommy and daddy got some bread and we fed them.
I really loved the sand but not when it got on my hands. I would say "yuk" and shake my hands. I am sure by the end of the week I will not mind it.
This is actually my first time on the beach in this picture. We are staying in the pink house behind me. I didn't know what to think at first but then starting running around all over the place.
I love the ocean! I am not scared at all of the waves and love to sit right where the they come in. A few times they almost knocked me over but I just laughed!

New Experiences....

I decided that I have seen mommy and daddy walk Mason long enough, it is MY turn. I really enjoy it too.....although Mason is not so sure!
Check it out....daddy got me my very own Home Depot apron.
I don't really like milk but I do like drinking from a real cup! So, I decided to try some milk this week. I still prefer my juice but this was really fun.
Got Milk?

I am no Romeo but I do have a Juliet!

Mommy, Daddy and I went to dinner with our neighbors last night. I have a younger lady on my arm and her name is Juliet (she is one month younger than me). We had a lot of fun together running around outside the restaurant after dinner. I wouldn't look at the camera with all of the action around us.

15 Months Old....

I am 15 months old now! Mommy took me to the doctor today for my 15 month appointment and here are my stats...

Height 32 & 3/4 inches (90th percentile).....getting very tall these days
Weight 24lb 7oz (60th percentile)
I got one shot, my DTaP vaccine and I didn't even cry this time. But I did wave "bye bye" to the nurse right after it was over which everyone thought was very funny!

I have 4 top teeth and 4 bottom teeth and I have a killer bite if you dare to put a finger in there! I am drooling like crazy again so my molars are on their way!

I can say a few words now like......"Kick", "Keys", "Cheese", "Da Da", "Balloon but it sounds like Boon"...we are still working on Ma Ma. I comprehend much more than I can say though and I really LOVE to get my way, just like mommy does. Mommy says I may be a "strong willed" child, ha ha! I can point to body parts when asked and make animal sounds like "moo" for a cow.

I have gotten pickier about food lately too. Things I love are....cheese, yogurt, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, strawberries and most other fruit.....as well as peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, grilled cheese, quesadillas and macaroni and cheese.....lots of cheese! And of course my juice to top it all off! Mommy keeps trying to get me to eat different meats and veggies but I just throw them to Mason......he has gained some weight and gotten sick a few times from eating all of my table food I throw him, oops!

I have a new nanny now too. Her name is Ann and she is my grandma Carol's first cousin. I have really enjoyed our time together so far and hope that it works out for a long time!

I love to help vacuum! I know where mommy keeps it and I go and stand at the door and demand that it is opened so we can vacuum! Then, I get my separate (non working) attachment and help the entire time and say "vroom, vroom".

A New Friend...Winston

My grandma came to keep me for a day and brought a friend, Winston. He was about 6 weeks old and so much fun to follow around. She rescued him and now Winston is with a very nice family. I told mommy and daddy that I really want one of these kitties....but we are going to wait a few more years before that happens unfortunately. Here are some pictures of us playing together....

The Art of Sharing!

It has been a long time since my last post, so I apologize. We have been busy this summer for sure. I am now trying to run and enjoying my new found stability. I love to be outside every chance I can get too. Although, it has been soooo hot this summer that we can't stay outside for very long. My cousin Drew came to visit me and everyone found out that I hate to share! The word SHARE has just not been a part of my life. So, every toy that he tried to get....I promptly went and took it from him. Of course, I didn't want to play with it but sure didn't want him to either. And I had a distinct advantage since I can walk and he can only crawl or walk behind things. We did have a lot of fun too and I am sure we will be fast friends as we get older!

Sorry Drew, this one is mine!
Let me show you how to drive this thing!
I can definitely still crawl pretty fast!
Enjoying some pool time......check it out ladies....I have goldfish....
I am a great sweeper.....let's hope "janitor" is not in my title one day though
Enjoying my blow up toy in the living room!

My First Haircut and More Pool time!

Mommy and Daddy took me for my first haircut! I was mistaken for a little girl again so I guess it's time to lose the curls in the back. It was a place especially for kids and I got to sit in a car while she cut my hair.
Here I am before the scissors started....

The fun has ended....my hair is going, going, gone!
Check it out....I am being so good...
Why does this take so long......
All done....check out my new do.....don't I look handsome!
I look like a little boy now instead of a baby...
At the pool again and lovin' it!
Headed to the pool again in my little red wagon...

Walking around waiting for the action to begin......
Here is my little cake
I was not the least bit hesitant to start digging right in....
This is awesome!
And then I realized that it tastes good too!
I could do this everyday!
You want some.....?

My One Year Stats and The Art of Walking

I have recovered from my burns almost completely. The bandages are off but my hands are still pink where the new skin is.
I had my 1 year doctor's appointment last Friday. I weigh 23lb 6oz (60th percentile) and my height is now 31 inches (80th percentile). We got 2 shots and did really well with them. They looked at my hands and said there should be no scarring and they are healing perfectly. We got the go ahead to get in the pool over the weekend too!
Mommy took me to the pool over Memorial Day but we didn't get any pictures yet. I was a little freaked out at first in my new float but then I got a nerf football and was happy thereafter.

I am teething again too. My 2 teeth next to my top teeth are about to come through.

My biggest news is......I CAN WALK! I just took off this past weekend and now I am walking everywhere. I like standing and walking so much that I don't even want to sit down in the bath tub anymore, ha ha!

Here I am in action! I hold my arms up when I walk and I look drunk but I am getting the hang of this really fast! Check out my new shoes (Crocs) too!
I love to get in Mason's bed and pull all of his toys out of the basket!

Check out my new hat! I won't leave it on long now but we are hoping that will change one day. And I can now drink and walk at the same time.
