Weekend Fun

This weekend Grant had his first swim lesson. I lost points as a mom because I forgot my camera...oops. We will be back next week so I will get some good ones then. He really LOVES the water. At this age, he is learning to kick his legs when you hold him out on his belly and when you hold him on his back. They show them how to float on their backs. He learned how to get to the edge of the pool and put both elbows up on the edge and pull himself out of the pool. He also learned how to hold onto the side of the pool and move around the side safely. It is very basic stuff at this point. They had a slide that went into the pool that all the kids got to try at the end....he thought this was great too!
His new skill is being able to roll down the window in the car from his carseat. He loves to ride with it down all the time now and then he demands his sunglasses. It is so hot lately but he doesn't seem to care. He still wants to do everything himself and points to himself and says "gwant" and then whatever it is he wants to do. I may have already put this in the blog but it is a daily thing now. He loves the song "The wheels on the bus" and we need to get it on video because he can do all of the hand motions with the words now, very cute to watch.
Baby news....we have begun work on the nursery this weekend. We decided that Grant is going to keep his room. He knows it is his room and we feel guilty taking it from him. He also still loves his crib so we are leaving him in it until who knows when. I am borrowing my neighbors crib for the new baby until Grant decides to get out of his. We painted this baby's room gray and it will have pink accents. Those who know me well should know that the walls never had a chance of being pink! There is a queen bed in there so it now has a white quilt, pink bedskirt and pink and gray pillows. It is definitely looking feminine. She will probably have some simple pink bumpers, nothing fancy.....that is what happens when you are second I guess.
