Christmas Time!

We have had a great Christmas this year!  Grant really understands the concept of Santa so it has been a lot of fun to watch and listen to him.  Our kids are over indulged for sure and our house is exploding with toys from every room!

Grant got a huge remote control shark from Papa Bill and CC
Jon Walter pushing Grant on his new Plasma Car
Jon Walter opening the door for Sloan....aka...wanting her to get out! LOL!  She got her very own pink cozy coupe for Christmas!
Luke and Sloan in their Christmas stripes!
Grant and Sloan checking on our Elf, Chippy.  Chippy was hiding too low this time and they couldn't resist touching him.
Grant with his rain boots and umbrella
The attempt to get all the grandkids to smile at once.....and stay seated!  Not an easy job!

Christmas Morning! Grant grew out of his Christmas PJ's so he is wearing the pants anyway (which are short) with another pajama top, lol.
A dune buggy!  Watch out everyone!
Sloan wondering what in the world is going on today!
She loved her little kitty that meows and her cell phone....
Opening gifts after they went through the Santa stuff
Sloan playing with her cow.....the cow sings "Girls just want to have fun".  I may hate this song in a few weeks since she plays it constantly now.
Sloan on her new slide.  I don't think you are supposed to sit sideways though
 Transformers and Robots
And the day ends with a face like this!  I think mine looks the same....whew Christmas is tiring!

Preschool Fun!

Grant was in a Nativity Play at preschool and he was one of the 3 Kings.  He has had a great time learning about baby Jesus.

He also had his Christmas Party at school and I got to go help out with this event.  It was a lot of fun to see him with all of his little friends.  We made crafts and watched the kids sing songs and play a game.  The game was a bean bag toss onto a board with the Nativity scene.  The holes were pretty small so I didn't really expect Grant to make it in.....but.....he was the ONLY person to get a bag in a hole!  The teachers and parents tried too and missed!  He was like the tenth kid to throw the bags.  Some of the kids were getting really frustrated by this game.  In fact, right before it was Grant's turn he looked at me and said "I don't want to throw it".  I told him he had to try.  He made one in and the whole class started cheering!  I was shocked and very proud of him.  Of course, he then wanted to go again and again.

After his party, I took him to the Fighter 57 restaurant for lunch.  It is a restaurant located right on the runway at one of the smaller, local airports.  We got a seat right by the window and got to see some private planes take off and land.  We also saw a helicopter and he loved that.

Nativity Play

So excited to see baby Jesus

He wanted me to take a picture of him next to his baby Jesus ornament (it's the white star next to his shoulder)
Getting ready to sing songs...Jingle Bells and Joy to the World
Right before he made the bag in the hole!

Outside of the restaurant was a huge plane.  Grant was very upset that it was missing its wheels!  He even asked the waitress where the wheels were, ha ha.
Front row seat!  And yes...that is milk in a wine glass!  They had the glasses on the table already and he begged to drink out of it.

Candy Canes, Poor Mason and SNOW

Sloan has been dying to have a candy cane so I finally gave in and let her have it.....yes that is what happens with the second child!  She wants everything that Grant has and it is hard not to let her have whatever it is.  I was thinking she may not like it but of course.....she LOVED it!  It was fine until she bit down hard and broke a piece off.  I had to dig it out of her mouth and the fun was over, ha!  She promptly threw a lovely fit.  I think her candy cane days are over for now.

Sloan continues to torture Mason but he keeps coming back for more.  So, I don't really know who is more to blame at this point.  She grabs him so hard and squeezes but he just let's her do for the most part.  He will back away sometimes and then come right back.

I took Grant to Snow Mountain at Stone Mountain Park today!  It is really funny to be sitting in snow when it is 60 degrees outside!  They have a huge tubing park for adults and then a big area for little kids.  I was really glad that I took his ski bibs, boots and gloves since the snow was pretty wet.  He didn't want to put them on until we got down there and realized how cold the snow was.  The first thing he did was pick up some snow and make a ball and throw it at my legs!  He laughed and said "got you mommy"!  I didn't even realize that he understood what a snowball was but wow was I wrong.  He also had a blast sledding and had to do it at least 10 times.  We tried to build a snowman but it was hard to get the snow to stay together.  They had buckets, shovels and snowman accessories for all of the kids though.  Grant wanted to put the scarf on himself, ha ha.  We had to visit the gift shop at the end and we came home with yet another stuffed animal....this time we bought a skunk!

Christmas Pictures and Conversations with Grant

Here are our Christmas pictures for this year!  We tried to get a group one of all of us but it turned out horrible to be honest.  So we stuck to just the kids on these.

Just some quick recent conversations with Grant....

This morning he woke up and told me that he wanted Mason, our dog, to sleep in his room.  I told him that maybe when he got bigger Mason could do that.  He then looked at me and said "I can take his bed in my room and he can just sleep there" as he was walking to pick up Mason's bed from beside our bed.  I had to finally tell him that Mason really likes his bed there and he didn't want to move yet.  I am thinking this debate is not over yet....

Then on the way to school this morning, he says "how does Santa go to that house?" and pointed to a house.  I was confused obviously and had no idea where this one was going.  So I just said that Santa goes to everyone's house and asked him why.  His next comment was "but that house doesn't have a chimney so how is Santa going to get in?".  Smart little observation that I never had thought about.  Ahhhhh the small little details of this Santa business.  His mind is constantly working!  I explained that Santa could get in through many different areas of a house and not to worry.  He said okay and then got quiet and had that look on his face like he was processing it all.
