Funny Moments

Grant has so many moments lately that make us laugh out loud. Tonight, we were making tacos and he held up his plate with one hand and said "Man do that at Hola". Hola is what he calls the mexican restaurant that we go to a lot. He was actually balancing the plate really well. His little mind is constantly going!

He also loves to watch Sloan take a bath every night. He is dying to get in there with her but it will be a few more months before that can happen. He gets in right after her now.

Sloan 3 Months Old

Sloan is now 3 months old and doing great! I couldn't get one of these pictures turned the right way for some reason. She rolled over from her tummy to her back for the first time today! She also started getting up on her elbows today. She likes to do the "airplane" move when she is on her stomach...see the picture, lol! She is really starting to follow objects and noises with her eyes. Bathtime is one of her favorite things every night but she screams to the top of her lungs when you pull her out. She is sleeping 12 hours at night but totally random on napping during the day. She is not on a schedule for eating during the day yet either. She takes around 25 ounces a day in a random amount of bottles. And she still spits up a lot so I guess that is here to stay until she starts solid food.

Grant has a New Tooth!

Grant has finally cut a new tooth! He has yet to get his 2 year molars and then he came and told me that he "broke a tooth". I pulled out a flashlight to see what he meant.....and his lower left molar is cutting through his gum! He was feeling a new tooth coming through and thought it was broken, lol!

We have been in the process of getting a new nanny and finally found someone whom we think is going to be great! She starts tomorrow! I am now back work and have been very busy. I have not had time to take many pictures but will definitely take some soon to post.

Sloan is now officially 3 months old and weighed 10lb 4 ounces a couple of days ago.

Cake Pop or Pop Cake?

I have learned over the last 3 months that it is extremely difficult to go anywhere with a 2.5 year old and infant by myself. So, we remain at home most of time. However, we have ventured out a few times. One place we have gone a few times is Starbucks to get a Mocha for me. I decided to introduce "Cake Pops" to Grant. It only took once and now if he sees a Starbucks, he says "mommy, go to Pop Cake house". Not sure why he has reversed the words but he refuses to say it in the right order, lol! He makes us laugh everyday with something he says or does.

One other funny story of the day....Luke called me on my cell phone and after we hung up I went to get Sloan up from her nap. When I came back downstairs, Grant had my phone and was talking on it. I thought he was pretending and asked him who he was talking to. He said "dada, say hey mommy". I still thought he was joking until I took the phone and realized that he had really called Luke. He hit the send button and it called the last person who called me which was Luke. Guess he got lucky on that one and so did I.

Sloan is 12 Weeks Old

Sloan is now 12 weeks old and I go back to work next week, wow! She weighs 9lb 14ounces so she are almost 10lbs! She started doing the funniest thing this week...she raises her left arm straight up in the air and just holds it there...like she is saluting someone, lol! She is sleeping from 7:30pm to 7:30am now and is taking in around 24 ounces of formula a day now. She is still a spit-up queen but that may not change until she starts solids...we will see.
Grant is growing a lot as well. His 2T pants are now getting short on him. He is now using "I" most of the time instead of using the third person (Grant want this, etc.). His memory still amazes us...he will bring up things from over 6 months ago and not miss a detail. He remembers names of people after only seeing them one time, so strange. He has also recognized the difference between boys and girls....he informed me that "dada has pee-pee and Grant has pee-pee but mommy not have a pee-pee".....I quit undressing in front of him several months ago when he kept pointing out "nipples" so I wasn't quite prepared for that comment to come out of his mouth quite yet. He never ceases to amaze me on a daily basis!

Merry Christmas!

We stayed home for the first time this Christmas so Santa could come and visit Grant! He already had too many toys so now he is totally over indulged. He was very excited when came downstairs and saw all of his new stuff. We officially cannot take a step in our house without tripping over some sort of toy. His favorite thing of the season is all of the blow ups in everyones' yards. We take him to ride by them nearly every night. I don't think he understands yet that they will not be there much longer. That will be a big disappointment I am sure.
Sloan is getting bigger every day. She is 9.5 lbs now. She is sleeping at least 10 hours a night and has gone 12 hours a few times. She is eating anywhere from 2.5-5 ounces every couple of hours. Her only flaw is that she spits up like it's her job! Anyone who holds her better be prepared to end up with a wet spot on them, lol!

2 Month Stats

Sloan had her 2 month doctors appointment this past Tuesday. She weighed 9lb 5oz (10th percentile) and 22 inches long (25th percentile). And her head was 15 inches. She got 2 shots this time (Hep B and PCV (pneumonia)). She did NOT like the shots, poor thing, but didn't have any reactions afterwards. She will go back in a couple of weeks for her DTaP/Polio/HiB combo shot. She is now sleeping from 8pm-6:30am consistently so we are hoping to get that stretched out a couple more hours over the next few weeks. Her hair is starting to grow a lot now so bows are definitely in her future! Her head is also getting a lot stronger. Her only fault is that she spits up a lot. Grant never did but she seems to all throughout the day. I have a bib on her most of the day to keep from having to change her clothes constantly, lol! She has the longest eye lashes and they curl which is so funny. We still can't tell what color eyes she is going to have. I am guessing hazel at this point but we will see.

Sloan 9 Weeks and Grant's Activities

Sloan is now 9 weeks old! She is really smiling a lot now and cooing tons too! She weights 9lb 3ounces. We take her to the doctor this week for her 2 month appointment so we will have official stats soon.

Grant has been very busy lately too. We made Christmas cookies and he really enjoyed decorating them....mostly eating the colored sugar and cookie dough! He also loves to wear my shoes now and walk around the house in them....hence the picture below of him in my boots. Piedmont Park now has horse and buggy rides for the first time in 80 years. So, we took Grant to take a ride. He loved it and actually got to sit on the horse and pet him. Added bonus: there was a carousel to ride too.

Waiting on the Carriage to pick me up

Sloan - 8 Weeks Old

Sloan is 8 Weeks Old now! She gave us a great gift last night and slept from 8:30pm to 6:30am! We are not sure this is a trend yet but have high hopes! She weighs 8lb 12 ounces now. She is starting to smile and coo a lot more now too.

Grant's Activities

We went to the Yellow River Game Ranch again and Grant loves it! The deer was tired of graham crackers below but Grant was determined to get her to eat it, lol! The deer are so friendly and tame.

Grant went to the Home Depot Kids program which is the first Saturday of every month. We built a snowman napkin holder. He got his apron with his name on it and a pin for finishing the class. He had so much fun that we will probably start going every month now.

Sloan is 7 Weeks Old

Sloan will be 7 weeks old tomorrow and is growing fast! She was 8lb 4oz last night. She is still eating around 4oz each feeding every 3 or 4 hours. Her sleeping is a bit inconsistent at this point. She goes down around 8:30 or 9pm and sleeps until at least 2am and sometimes until 4am or 5am. We are hoping to get her more consistent in the next couple of weeks as she gets bigger. Her hair is falling out so bows are not going to happen soon unfortunately. She has had some baby acne this past week too but it is starting to clear up finally. Her head is getting stronger each day and she is starting to coo some and smile.
